Surgery Discharge Instructions

Dog Neuter

Great job choosing to have your dog neutered!
Neutering is an important step in protecting your dog’s long-term health. As intact male dogs age, up to 90% will develop prostate enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia). This can lead to difficulty urinating, urinary tract infections, discomfort, and other complications. Intact males are also at risk for prostate cancer, and distinguishing cancer from prostate enlargement often requires expensive testing or emergency care.

Neutering significantly reduces these risks and helps keep your dog healthy and comfortable as he ages.
