Ashley Brandwood
Clinic Coordinator
Clinic Coordinator | Reception Team | Hospital Leadership
If you've ever called or visited God's Dogs Rescue Veterinary Clinic, there's a good chance you've been greeted by Ashley's bright personality and cheerful smile!
Ashley is our Clinic Coordinator, a member of our reception team, and one of the familiar faces who helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. But her role at GDRVC goes far beyond answering phones and coordinating appointments.
Ashley is one of the people who helped build our clinic into what it is today. ❤️
A Decade of Dedication
Ashley is celebrating an incredible 10 years working alongside Dr. Knowlton! Her career began on the clinical side of veterinary medicine, where she gained years of hands-on experience as a veterinary technician. But as her career progressed, it became clear that Ashley had another special talent: connecting with people.
With her cheerful personality, medical knowledge, and natural ability to comfort worried pet parents, Ashley transitioned into the reception team, where she quickly became someone clients could count on for reassurance and guidance. She eventually became Dr. Knowlton's Hospital Manager at their previous practice combining her clinical background with her passion for helping people and leading a team.
When the opportunity came to start God's Dogs Rescue Veterinary Clinic, Ashley joined Dr. Knowlton and Beth, helping turn a shared vision into reality. And she's been an essential part of that journey ever since.
More Than a Manager ❤️
What makes Ashley so special isn't just her experience or ability to keep our clients feeling like they are in good hands . It's that she's never afraid to roll up her sleeves and jump in. While some managers prefer to stay behind a desk, Ashley is happiest being right in the middle of the action. Whether she's helping the reception team, assisting with a patient, comforting a worried pet parent, or stepping in wherever an extra set of hands is needed.
She also has a reputation for making sure the entire team is fed. Because apparently, keeping a veterinary clinic running also means making sure nobody goes hungry! 😂 Her coworkers know they can count on her for a helping hand, a little encouragement, and usually something good to eat.
The Queen of Bottle Babies 🍼🐾
If there's an orphaned puppy or kitten somewhere in need of a bottle, there's a pretty good chance Ashley is already on her way to pick it up. Dogs? Cats? Doesn't matter. If it needs a bottle, Ashley is in! She has a special place in her heart for the tiniest, most vulnerable rescue animals and is always willing to take on the exhausting but rewarding responsibility of bottle-feeding and caring for them.
And Ashley isn't afraid of the less glamorous parts of rescue medicine, either.
Bottle feeding at all hours? No problem.
Cleaning up a messy little bottom? She's got it.
Loving them through every stage until they're healthy and strong? Absolutely.
It's just one more example of how Ashley's compassion extends well beyond her job description.
Meet Ashley's Family 🐶🐱
At home, Ashley's biggest adventure is being a mom to Sloane, her adorable little girl who keeps her on her toes and makes life anything but boring!
Of course, no veterinary professional's household would be complete without a few furry family members.
Cici Mae is Ashley's beloved Shepherd mix, who originally came into her life as a foster when she was just a little pup. As so often happens in rescue, fostering turned into forever, and Cici Mae has been part of the family ever since. ❤️
PJ is her handsome orange kitty with quite the backstory! He came home courtesy of Beth after one of our Laredo Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) trips. Despite his feral beginnings, PJ has proven to be considerably more charming and less wild than you might expect.
And then there's Augustus. A black-and-tan bundle of approximately 16 pounds of pure energy, enthusiasm, and just a little bit of stress! 😂
Between Sloane, Cici Mae, PJ, Augustus, and whatever bottle baby happens to need her, Ashley's house is rarely quiet!
Outside the Clinic
When Ashley isn't coordinating the clinic, helping clients, or caring for orphaned animals, she loves spending time with Sloane, attending church, and getting creative. She's especially talented at crafting, whether she's making custom freshies, hats, or just about anything else that might put a smile on someone's face. She also enjoys country dancing! 💃 Ashley has a gift for bringing a little extra happiness into the lives of the people around her, whether that's through something she's made, a thoughtful gesture, or simply showing up when someone needs her.
What Makes Ashley Special to Our Team? 💙
Ashley has been part of Dr. Knowlton's veterinary journey for a decade, through years of growth, change, challenges, and new beginnings. But what makes her truly invaluable isn't measured by how many years she's been here or how many responsibilities she manages. It's the way she makes people feel. She has a special ability to put worried pet parents at ease, support her coworkers when things get overwhelming, and somehow still find time to care for the smallest rescue animals who need her.
She's bright, cheerful, compassionate, and never too busy to lend a hand. Ashley doesn't just help manage our clinic. She helps make it feel like family. And after 10 years together, we couldn't imagine doing this without her. ❤️🐾
